As soon as kittens are surrendered to HART, they are placed in local foster homes. They stay in these foster homes until the day they are adopted. We believe the home environment is the best place for the health and socialization of our kittens. All applications must first be approved before you are introduced to the kitten or kittens who best match for you.
If you are interested in adopting a kitten, please complete our online adoption application. A member of our Kitten Team will contact you within 7 days to begin the approval process. After your application has been approved by our team, we will be able to schedule appointments for you to meet available kittens. If at any point in this process, you have questions or are looking for an update on your application, please email the kitten team (firstname.lastname@example.org). This team is all volunteer and we appreciate your patience as we process your application.
All kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FIV, leukemia, and heartworm, and given age appropriate vaccinations before they are made available for adoption. Kittens must weigh at least 2 pounds before they can be altered. Rabies vaccinations cannot be given until kittens are 12 weeks old. HART provides a 7-day post-adoption health guarantee. Please be aware that all HART cats must be brought home in a carrier. We occasionally have some for sale at the shelter.
PLEASE NOTE: At this time, we are only posting bonded pairs who MUST go home together. Please read their bios carefully to learn which kittens are bonded together. We will continue to reach out to pre-approved adopters looking for single kittens in the order they were received, until the number of adopters returns to a normal level. If you have already submitted an application and are interested in a posted pair, email email@example.com and let us know. If you haven’t applied yet and want these cuties, submit your application today!
