Join us August 10-13, 2023 at the Cumberland Fairgrounds Expo Building, in Cumberland, Maine for HART’s Annual Yard Sale. Shop thousands of treasures, find great deals and pick up delectable treats from our Bake Sale table. All proceeds from this flagship fundraising event go directly to providing essential care for the hundreds of cats we take in every year.

We will begin accepting donations Wednesday, July 12 through Sunday, August 6 at the temporary pods in front of the shelter at 302 Range Road in Cumberland. Pods are open 24 hours a day, for your convenience. After August 6, items may be dropped off at the Cumberland Fairgrounds Expo Building Monday, August 7-Wednesday, August 9 from 8am-6pm, Thursday, August 10, from 8am-12noon.

We are looking for previously loved yet delicately used furniture, home decor, kitchen gadgets, small appliances, clothing, toys, tools, garden equipment, holiday decorations, collectibles, books, and more. All items must be in good, clean and working condition. All clothing must be in clean and wearable condition. We can only accept working flat screen TVs with remotes and only flat screen computer monitors along with their cords. 

If possible, furniture or any other large/bulky items should be delivered directly to the Fairgrounds-Exhibition Building Monday, August 7-Wednesday, August 9 from 8am-6pm, Thursday, August 10, from 8am-12noon. Otherwise, items can be brought to the shelter or arranged with Joann Wallace (jwsummit@msn.com) to meet a volunteer at one of our off-site storage 'lockers’.

Items we will NOT accept:

  • cribs and car seats

  • mattresses and box springs

  • any paints or chemicals

  • fluorescent lightbulbs

  • any appliance with freon (i.e. refrigerators and air conditioners)

  • stoves, washers, dryers

  • large and cumbersome exercise equipment

  • anything broken
